And the Oscar goes to....
This year CES received a $40,000 grant to purchase chromebooks and ipads. With this grant we also receive monthly professional development on how to incorporate technology to enrich our curriculum. This last Monday we learned how to use imovie and a green screen. Mrs. McLemore and I created this short Video. We decided we shouldn't quit our day jobs!!

Hello all,
We had fun in 6th grade today!! They explored geometric solids using chromebooks. Click the link below to hear a 6th grade student explaining attributes of a geometric solid.
"All about that math..."
This blog will be used for posting information about what is going on in each of the math classes that I teach. I will also post videos and how-to problem solving techniques about concepts that I feel students need a little more help with, this can be found in the "Blog Tutoring" section in the top right side of this page. Students will also be making posts to this blog as well as on their own blogs. This week in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades we are helping them create their own blogs and learning about digital citizenship.

Introduction
Hello all, I am Mrs. Gibson and I am the 4th, 5th, 6th grade math teacher at Cyril Elementary. This is my 7th year of teaching and 3rd year at Cyril. I have been married for 13 years and have 3 children ages 9, 7, and 2. They keep me extra busy chasing them around to softball and basketball games and stockshows!
I am an educator because that is my passion. I love being apart of students' lives and helping them on their education journey. I love teaching math because I can relate to those students who come to me not loving math and who have struggled in the past. I love bringing fun and innovative lessons into my classroom to make math enjoyable and understandable. Math is a subject that may take a little longer for some, but eventually the light bulb comes on and the concept clicks...that is a good day on the job for me!
